With the on-stage chemistry of Johnny and June and the sometimes dark but always quirky musicality of the Violent Femmes, the Couldn’t Be Happiers are an indie folk-rock/Americana duo whose joyful sound has taken them from their hometown of Winston-Salem, NC to NYC to Germany and beyond. Their live performances feature interactive storytelling, close harmonies, and a rebellious punk-rock energy. The married couple, Jodi Hildebran Lee (percussion, harmonica, guitar, and vocals) and Jordan Crosby Lee (guitar and vocals), finds their songwriting inspiration in overlooked histories, disappearing folklore, political and environmental anxieties, and, of course, their love for each other.
